About

Alicia is a professor of Spanish Literature and Translation at the University of Texas at Arlington. She received her Ph.D. in Hispanic Languages and Literatures from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and she holds a B.A. in Journalism from the University of Seville and a B.A. in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada, Spain. Since 2014, she collaborates with Proyecto Inmigrante through a service-learning program where her students in Legal Translation gain invaluable experience collaborating in the translation of official documents and helping hundreds of immigrants in need of translation services.
