LEGISLATORS FROM MEXICO AND UNITED STATES WILL MEET IN NORTH TEXAS TO TALK ABOUT IMMIGRATION

Grand Prairie, TX. August 24, 2022.- The Binational Immigration Summit: We Are All America will bring together about 50 federal and state legislators and other elected officials from Mexico and the United States.

“I am happy to be part of this important Summit where elected officials from the United States and Mexico are coming together to have an open and honest conversation about important topics related to economy, human rights, border security, and immigration” said the Honorable John Lopez, Deputy Mayor Pro Tem, District 4 of Grand Prairie.

Douglas D. Interiano, Founder and Director of Proyecto Inmigrante ICS, Inc., host of the event, the Binational Summit “Is a new opportunity to resume the dialogue that allows us to advance the search for a definitive solution to the long-awaited immigration reform for our community.”

On her participation in the Summit, Congresswoman from Mexico Elizabeth Perez Valdez, Vice coordinator of the parliamentary faction of Congress, stated “Our message will support any program, reform, and policy in general that, makes migration a cultural, social, and intellectual exchange that always stands out for being full of dignity.”

“Today I am happy to join this Binational Immigration Summit where government officials from both Mexico and the U.S. come together on this imperative and difficult conversation. I am looking forward to addressing our nations’ mutual challenges and finding solutions. As a Texas State House Representative of District 105 I am truly blessed that this Binational Summit is hosted in my district where we celebrate diversity. And we believe in building bridges not walls” said the Honorable Terry Meza, Texas State House of Representatives, District 105.

The visit of the Mexican delegation is being coordinated with the support of Casa Durango Dallas.
 
NOTE: The Inter-faith Council of Proyecto Inmigrante ICS, Inc. will hold a vigil on Thursday, August 25 at various churches in North Texas, Kansas, Arkansas, and Mexico for the success of the Summit and in favor of immigration reform.
